I'm thrilled my wife and I won first place today at the Mystery Box Prop Building Challenge at Halloween Extreme! We were given a pig head, bloody hand, tree stump, a sheet, and a medical incision opener thing(I have no idea what the actual name of it it) to build a prop. I used a pillow to make the body and various other items from the free for all grab section. We had roughly 40 minutes from start to finish to make something. I will be picking great stuff off of my hands for weeks to come still but it was worth it!

Haunt Control App - Coming Soon!

Since about 2009 I've been working on a Android app for android phones that takes a lot of the work off the haunt owner, using this app you will be able to control (thus the name) haunt lighting, FX, sound systems and a lot more, including animations, scenes, props and much, much more all from your phone. I have been working on this on paper since about 1998 roughly and now have the chance to bring it to light. I have no release date as the software is still in testing and the props controllers are still being debugged for use with our software. We hope to keep you updated here on beta releases and upcoming pricing on the software.

The system would compile 9 sections together to bring your haunt the info you need when you need it. Our software will be able to monitor your haunt, lights, props and sounds to be sure they are running and if something goes down, you will know the second it does and what happened, where the problem is and with what. All this, by your phone. It sends you everything you need to fix the issue fast. We even include options on how to best fix the issue and if you have a blow out such as a light going down on you, we offer options where to buy another item such as the one you lost, trying to find you the best deals we can.

Again, no release date has been set for the software but we will be using it in our own haunted house as the trial run gets closer to us opening. After the bugs are worked out, we expect to sell the system software to haunted houses around the state then the country. Right now, no final price has been set but we are estimating to sell the software for right about $2,999 roughly and includes 30 days of tech support. The system updates will run right about every 6 months (twice a year) at a cost of $499.99 an update.

Source code to the system will be available as well so you can custom build your own system as you need to. Once we finish the testing, we will set all the pricing for everything and let you know as soon as we make a official press release but there you have it.

Has anyone seen such a system in the haunt industry?? Questions may be directed to dlstorminc@yahoo.com and if you would like to work with us to make the system, or invest in the product, please drop us a line. Also, once we work out the bugs and run trials on it, we will be selling it at the MHC and Transworld conventions.

Hope to hear from you all about this!
Take care and stay safe

Many of you know me through other Halloween sites or social networking sites or my website, but if we haven't met, HI!
Halloween has been a passion for me for many years, but I didn't get to really make a haunted yard until about 5 years ago. Since then I have put up pictorials at my website (all free) and shared my oopses. You learn as much from mistakes as successes, right?
What I make is mostly papier mache and insulation foam, with some polymer clay, wood and any other materials I can get my hands on. Sadly I am allergic to latex, so won't be using that.
Around here, I am known as the Pumpkin Lady. Prolly because I have made more than 60 JOLs! :jol:
Here is last year's yard:
There is not enough spaces for all of my costumes to be shown. If you would like to see all the rest of them please go to Halloween forum where I am known as The Duchess as well as The Costumer ( I lost my password there too!)
I decided to use one character named ( The Duchess). I use it on three forums including this one.
acrylic paint: paint the clear glass one on the flat side with a iris ,your done

another way is to paint over the iris once it is drys with white paint ,it looks more real

the best ,easiest and most realistic way is to use Tarra's print out eyes on photo paper (Tarra's Halloween eyes) ,cut out and superglue the paper to the flat side and your done, i do not know how to put the link here but i'm sure someone can put it here or do a search

i have used several ways to attach them to props: roofing nail super glued to the back of eye and pushed in to wig head ,hot glue, elmer's glue
they all work good.
