How about using it to power/propel silhouettes (bats, monsters, people) inside a curtained or shaded window? Maybe a cadaver's hand protruding from an opening in a crypt?
If the tips of the fingers just brush the surface of the crypt it will make the fingers move like they are trying to feel what's around the hole. You could use a protruding hand holding an eyeball to make it look like it's looking around from a crypt or a witches cauldron.
