Icon16 Attention Tech Junkies: Make Magazine Contest

HauntForum is proud to help Make Magazine promote their 2009 Halloween Contest.

Quote:
Microchip Technology Inc. and MAKE have teamed up to present to you the Make: Halloween Contest 2009! Show us your embedded microcontroller Halloween projects and you could be chosen as a winner.
In exchange, they have donated a few prizes for us to give away here.

The first three people to reply to this message with a link to or a photo/video of a microcontroller-based Halloween project of their own creation will receive a prize.

The only limits are that it must be your creation (old or new is fine), it must be controlled by a microcontroller and it must be a Halloween-related project.

First to reply will receive:
Make: The Fourth Year Collector's Box Set

Second and Third to reply will receive:
Maker Notebooks

Let's see some nerdy stuff!

Well, here's hoping an EFX-TEK prop-1 microcontroller counts. This is a pretty easy one, inspired by the Haunted Mansion in Disneyworld, where the ravens with red eyes sit on Madame Leota's chair in the seance room. The original thought was to have several ravens, but instead I made this as a side prop to the others. The raven turns randomly on a Hi-Tec servo, and the LED eyes flash randomly. The skull has a more shudder movement also using a Hi-Tec servo I can post the EFX TEK code if anyone is interested.
Thanks for looking!
Rick
Here is the movie:

Excellent! We have our three winners.

Very nice offerings from everybody.

Expect a formal techno-contest sometime in 2010. I always set rules that usually limit the technological amongst us, so I'm going to show some love by making a build just for us.
