Default Shhhh - Don't Tell Chris Baker (It's a Surprise)

Procrastinators make excellent multi-taskers.

Chris Baker will be attending this year’s National Haunters Convention and, to occupy the long lines of autograph seekers and groupies that will certainly swarm him instantly, I thought I'd make something cool for him to sit on his booth's table. This worked out well for me because now I have an entry in this year’s $20 Prop Challenge (my first!).

For those how haven't seen it - Here a link to the original:

http://hauntcast.net/

Many more pics and a "semi" How-to can be found at

The list of materials used:

(1) Cryptic Imports Skull $6.80
(1) Goodwill Candle Stick $1.99
10.5" of 3/4" Aluminum Stock $1.40
(2) 5/16 4.5" Lag Bolts $1.16
(1) Goodwill Stereo Splitter Cable $1.99
(2) Ultra Bright Green LEDs $0.50
6" Small gauge wire $0.50
(1) 10ohm 1/8 watt Resistor $0.20
Small amount of Latex (approx) $2.00
(8) Cotton balls $0.10
A literal "handful" of spray foam $0.50
(1) 9v Battery Connector $0.40
Spray Paint (Black/Matte Sealer) $1.00
Acrylic Paints $1.00
(1) Stick of Hot Glue $0.50

Grand total: $20.04

Where the amounts above were estimated I practically doubled what I think the actual value is (just to be on the save/fair side). I DO NOT advocate ever, under any circumstance, using a "literal handful" of spray foam for anything - I have never found a glove, surgical or otherwise, that is capable of keeping this stuff off of your skin or clothes....Arrrg.

Hope you enjoy - I this is going to look wicked cool on the Hauntcast table! I hope to see you all there.

Oh that is cool Denhaunt! I really like the green paint and the green leds for the eyes. The bolts in the jaw is very cool! It looks just like Hauntcast logo. Chris Baker will be very proud!

Denny, sucking up to the G-Host!

I thought you were busy with your Pumpkin Thieves. Sneaking in under the radar. Great job. There are way too many creative and worthy entries now.

Nah - just giving a little back to our favorite resident emcee. You're are right about the talent, though. Almost makes me feel a little silly for entering this. But what the heck - it was still fun to build!

That looks great! Just like the original. Scoring yourself some brownie points that's for sure.
