Everyone wants to do thier own thing. We've obviously all evolved in our desires for projects. I see this as the wave of the future in our group unless someone with as much influence as Ken (Vlad) can intervine.

A tutorial and redesign of fester for a group build will simply take too much time for me given the lack of interest in our group. I'm cancelling the group build for now untill there is more interest. Sorry folks. it really does take that much time. He's custom built on the fly without measurements and expectations. I'd have to reconstruct him a second time and idiot proof the design against some really dangerous cuts on a power saw and then take a ton of measurments and a whole slew of other things. I'm really not trying to be a dick here, but he is a much more complicated build than he appears (aren't most good things??). I think someone else should suggest a project for this month so I can bring my son to the July meeting and actually enjoy myself and introduce hi m to some really cool people.

Fester is a two meeting build. Unless there is a groundswell of people that wantr yto be dedicated to a two meeting build than I refuse to deal with the confusion that will ensue.

The OAGG damn near killed me to put together and that is barely half the work as fester. And I'd bet that less than 3 of you actually finished him to "Halloween ready" condition.

I will do the tutorial online for our hauntforum friends, and we can decide at a later date if we have enough dedication to accomplish a project like fester.

Greg since it is getting closer to Halloween people tend to finish up on projects they started, but didn't complete. I would love to make Fester, but I think that would be a better project for the winter. Also our group is big, so some suggestions for projects that people wanted to do other people have done already. So that means not everyone will always participate and they would end up bringing there own projects. I'm sure we can discuss it at the next meeting. I know one of the things that people wanted to learn about was monster mud. Maybe Rich could demonstrate on a small item, so we can see how to go about using it. I know people use fabric and I would love to see how you would go about using monster mud on fabric. Just a suggestion!

Sharon, I agree 100% , and I'm totally cool with what you said. It makes things a lot easier for me. I'm actually very relieved.

So it seems that this will be a Drink and think, BYO-project type meeting with a possible monster mud demo..

I know Rich knows how to work with Monster Mud, so I sort of volunteered him. If anyone else wants to demonstrate with Monster Mud than that would be great! I am going to bring my foam cutting table and actual finally finish a tombstone! LOL..I hope! I'm hoping to have started one before the meeting.

Greg, fester is an awesome prop and id be happy to build it whenever everyone is ready to do it as I umderstand the time that is involved on your end. Any prop that involves me learning a new set of skills or helps me refine my techniques im in for.

As for a monster mudd tutorial..i think thats great! Ive never used it but always have been interested so hopefully Rich wont mind giving us an overview..i mean you already owe us all all mailbox tutorial haha! Why not add this on too!

One last note...does anyone need or want to do voiceovers for their haunt this year. If you do I can bring my laptop and mic set up and we can play with those at the M&T record add effects then burn a disc for you to take that day. Any excuss to use my new mic set up im for!

Jay that sounds cool I am definitely up for that! I would love to do a few nursery rhymes for my demented child's room.

Jay-if I was doing a haunt this year it would have been perfect. There MAY be something I can do for the party tho so yeah, that would be cool.

Greg-I agree with Sharon. We all seem to be going in different directions right now as far as haunts/parties stuff is concerned, and the closer it gets, the more likely we are to be trying to finish up what is already started instead of starting a new project. I think that doing that over the winter would be a good idea and since you have all the tools and stuff at your place, maybe you should just do the two meetings needed to make that prop up at your place. It certainly would make it easier if everything was already there.

As for me, I made it clear that I'm not doing much of anything except party details. While it may seem rude to not be joining in, I have to finish these things up.

Also, the way I look at it, I don't care if we are all working on different projects. It's always just fun to hang out with everyone and I find I can get inspired to work on things I may other wise put off if everyone is here bringing the prop building energy! Besides, we don't all need the same props, so if most of you want to make something, and some of us don't, that's OK. You can all work on one thing while the rest work on something else. I think it's fun just seeing you all. Maybe I'm thinking wrong tho, because while that's the way we started off, it's evolving into something else, just because of everyones needs and interests. Either way, it's fine with me and I hope that you all feel the same way. After being with young children all week, this is like grandma's play time...LOL.

Oh, Greg, if you bring your kids with you, feel free to bring bathing suits and towels for them if they'd like to jump in the pool. With cool nights and all the rain the water isn't heating up very fast but all the kids don't seem to mind much.

If we are doing a demo on witching jars, I will bring extra canning jars with me.

No problem Grim! I thought the message was just to tell us about the Make and Take that you are having that involved Monster Mud. I didn't get to respond yet, but thanks so much for the invite! I definitely want to make it to a meeting, but I don't think I can make it for a little while. Hopefully we will see you in the near future!
