Damn, going to Wayne would be a freakin' driving pleasure for once! However, the 21st and 28th are no good for me. The pro group has tentatively scheduled a meeting with township officials for the 21st with the 28th as a backup date, and barring that I've committed to the NJ Hookerman M&T for the 28th (we'll be starting to build a "coffin creep" prop -- a motorized coffin that opens causing a skeleton to sit up inside. Come one, come all!).
I am available on either Sunday, though, the 22d or the 29th. Goodness knows what the cryptkeeper will say to me about scheduling a full weekend of M&T's along with all the pro haunt stuff I do during the week.
A Boris hack might be interesting, though if enough people express an interest there might not be enough supplies to go around. I'm already planning to do a 3-axis skull on my own (hah!) so I'd probably pass on that, and with the way weather has been for me three of the past four years, I can't even use my $1 fog chiller let alone something more sophisticated.
As for prop ideas, I am interested in making a shiatsu massager Grave Escape prop, so I'll throw that out there.
Last year my goal was to add some height to my graveyard and I did that with two obelisk grave markers, so this year I'm looking to add movement. The grave grabber was a start, but I found the movements too subtle for my needs, so that's why I want to do the coffin creep prop and the grave escape. Additionally, and I know we've mentioned it before, I want to get into pneumatics.
On YouTube, Widowmakerproduction posted a tutorial on making a scissor hinge which he attached to a cylinder to make his king on a throne prop lunge forward. Very cool and I like the movement. It's something I'd like to try.
I'd also like to use a simple pneumatic to make a prop suddenly lean forward. My idea is to have a wall with 3 full-size skeletons or figures set into niches and as ToTs walk past one will suddenly lunge out. I figure that's probably simple and might be a good introduction to pneumatics. One last prop I'm interested in is the Casa Fear-style groundbreaker.
So how's that for ideas? I think I've got a year's full of them and then some. But I'd vote for a Sunday date if possible this month.
