Hey Guys, Sorry I missed your call Greg. I wish I had enought time to scare geese with my air cannon the township I work for is like a full blown construction company. I messed up my back pretty bad at work yesterday putting a snow plow on a truck went to comp and they think I have a bulging disk its pretty painful...so I go back monday to figure out my fate with the stupid comp dr's.
The 25th is not good for me I have the polar bear plunge "not sure if I can make it into the water at this point" and I have a venison dinner at 4pm which is a tradition cant miss it.
Rich, I hope I am feeling better to go into nyc with you guys Ill keep you posted.

Rich and I can still do the 11th if your not a quadropoligic by that time. Shaitzu prop?? Did you get a chance to get caught up on Rich's Air Cannon Misfire thread?? Seems we need a larger selenoid to trigger the cannon reliably.

Hey Bob, that sucks about your back, though Annette told me she's happy you finally have a bulge somewhere.
Back injuries are like toothaches. There's really nothing you can do to relieve the pain, no matter whether you're sitting, standing, laying down, whatever. I hate 'em! Perhaps I can recommend you go see my physician, Dr. Summeroff, if you're looking for some time to go on vacation. :P
Get better 'cause we're looking forward to your attendance at TimesScare.
Rich

Rich, I guess thats why Annette has been rubbing my back so much... the only Saturday I am available this month is the 18th. I have a party on the 11th.
The Shaitzu prop sounds great I can really use one for my display. Even if the 18th isnt good for you guys I can always catch up no biggie. I would use my Shaitzu on my back but I got it from ebay and it reeks of cigarettes..yuck last thing I need is peg from Montanas second hand smoke being silently massaged into my back...
I have not had time to look at Rich's Air Cannon Misfire thread I'll give it a good look tomorrow. Talk to you guys soon.

Geez a Party on the 11th" A venison Plunge with Polar Bears on the 25th--?where you have to escape becomming a meal? All with a Broken back? Damn Bob, you are ONE BUSY and Tough Dude!!! All I ever did that was tough was Play a little league all Star Baseball game with two broken fingers.
I'm beginning to wonder if I need to have you sign a waiver upon arriving at my place every month. Lemme See, Almost Killed Annette last fall, Almost sliced your finger off last month, and Now your shootin for a back brace. BOTH of you had your face in that air cannon with a full charge ready, LOL. It's only a matter of time before our local rescue squad is put on high alert every time we have a meeting.
WAIT!!!..... It FITS!! The Legend of the Hookerman is where he "Slipped" (Clumsy??) and fell under a train while hooking up the cars, and fell under the train where a wheel cut his arm off?? Now I understand.
Anyway, I'll entertain having it on a Sunday while it's still winter. If not than Rich and I wil do the Shiatzu grave escape Grabber on Feb 25th. Lets get our March Date and a project together before our Feb Gathering.

I am open for a Sunday Build (clearing throat) Rich?
If my back isnt better I am not running into the water this year for the polar plunge but I still have to go and support my team. and the venison dinner is like thanksgiving dinner family and friends have been doing this for years if I miss it its likely they disown me or sever a toe...or even worse massage me with a smoke soaked Shaitzu..

No Worrys Bob, Just bustin some chops. Both events sound like fun but you wouldn't catch me anywhere NEAR the ocean until july.
38 Degree water...... Hmmm...Talk about "Shrinkage" ???
I'm in a "Strong back" Business. My back is ALWAYS hurting to some degree or another. As long as the pain is managable, I keep working. We're pulling for ya to heal up and feel better.

Lets do a group purchase together. If we can somehow get you to the meeting this month, we could do it soon and modify the cannon as well as get the shiatzu prop going. Otherwise it would make sense to wait a little bit (March??) since I'm a little tight with funds this month AND Rich wants to do a pneumatic prop next month.
Waiting till March will allow us to purchase all the supplies we need for that prop as well as the new selenoids. Plus, we'll need to buy a new 3/4" X 3/8" adaptor and a 3/8" nipple for the new selenoid.

Sundays work for me, though I'm guessing the 19th or 26th would be better than next week to give us a chance to get our parts together. But I'm game regardless.
EDIT: Oh, it CANNOT be on the 12th: the second half of the The Walking Dead season premieres.
Just an update on the air cannon: I played around with it again this weekend and so long as I fired it one or two times in succession (even three or for times) but kept the PSI above 40 or so, I was able to keep it going without a problem. It was only after it dropped below 40 psi and the tank had to be recharged that it "failed."
To be honest, I still don't understand why the size of the solenoid would matter. You would think if it was a size issue it would "fail" from the get-go yet it works at the beginning. I'm willing to try the different size solenoid but I can't understand the mechanics why that should matter.
On another matter, I removed the regulator from my pancake compressor in an effort to see if an unrestricted air flow would have an effect, and after running to the store several times to get the parts I put it back together. I charged the tank up and went to connect my hose when I realized...I had no hose connector! The tank was just a completely closed loop! Duh.
Anyway, I gave up at that point, my little brain too exhausted to head back to the store to find the proper fittings. I'll save that for another day.
So let me know when the next M&T is and I'll be there.
Rich
