Oh, I'm still on for tombstones this meeting. Next one would be fine for the lifter for me. Since Bob hardly brings props to the M&T to work on -- I'm pretty sure he just comes for the food, the dogs, and the iguana -- I say we keep it low key.
If Bob wants to actually work on something this time, however, I'd be up for whatever that is too. Obviously I just come for the beer.
BTW, in the event anyone reading doesn't know, Dave is giving away the plans, you just gotta pay the mailing costs, which are around $4.50. You can order them at his website, Pandemic Haunt Production
and he's done a 3-part video series on his Dead with Dave show on YouTube. This is the first one (starts at 4:10 mark into the show):
Of course, Dave makes it look super easy, but already Steves Haunted Yard (yardhaunter5) and halstaff have both built one already (halstaff built 2!). Both claim to be newb welders but their joints look perfect to me in their videos. Obviously I'm doing something wrong. But it looks like a fun, easy project regardless.
I'll note that halstaff used a bulkier cylinder than the one Dave uses in the video, and it's I think the same as what I'll be using for the skeleton flipper (a 1-1/16" bore). Automation Direct has them for around $20, a nice 45% discount to what FrightProps offers.
Until someone helps me navigate the AD site to find all the other accoutrements that go with the cylinder though, I'll be buying the fittings and such from FP because it's much easier to navigate and understand what's needed. Prices might be a $1 or $2 higher for them, but it's worth it I think to make sure I'm getting the right stuff. Besides, I'll be saving a ton on the cylinder.
